Author Guidelines

The Journal of Entrepreneurial Studies is published bi-annually in May and November each year. The manuscript submitted to the Journal of Entrepreneurial Studies should be an original research paper with significant contribution to the entrepreneurship literature and is not concurrently being considered for publication in other journals. The structure of the manuscript is as follows:

  1. Title: The title should be concise and does not exceed 20 words. The title should be related to the content of the article.
  2. Authors' names and institutions: The authors of the article should list their full name without academic title and the name of the authors' institutions. The corresponding author should also include his/her E-mail address for correspondence purposes.
  3. Abstract and keywords: The abstract section should be approximately 100-250 words, which covers a brief overview about the research article, which includes: the aim of the study, novelty/contribution to the literature, research methods, findings, and managerial implications.
  4. Introduction: The introduction section contains the background of the study, which serves as the basis for why this research needs to be conducted, the research objectives, and the urgency of the study.
  5. Literature review: The literature review section consists of a thorough review on the theories and construct used in the study. The literature review should also include the hypotheses for the study, which are based on the theory and results from previous studies.
  6. Research method: The research method section includes the design of the study, population and sampling, and the main tools for data analysis.
  7. Conclusion: The conclusion section provides the summary and managerial implications based on the results of the study.
  8. Recommendations: The recommendations section covers the limitations of the current study and directions for future research.
  9. References: The references section should contain a list of scientific and non-scientific publications that were cited in the content of the manuscript. It is advised to use Mendeley reference manager to write down the relevant references.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
